CHERRICO POTTERY
Cherrico Pottery is a small, independently owned business in St. Joseph, MN. In spring 2016, I led the creative marketing processes during a semester-long marketing and sales internship. Main responsibilities included conceptualizing, styling, and directing photo shoots to capture images and design graphics for print and web. I also redesigned Cherrico Pottery's online store and posted digital marketing content to our social media accounts.
Cherrico pottery's best selling product is Cosmic Mugs. Glazed with a combination of cobalt, iron, and copper, the mugs' abstract designs reflect galactic images from NASA's Hubble space telescope.
St. Joseph's most frequented coffee shop and cafe, The Local Blend, was the site for several photo shoots. The cafe uses and sells Cherrico's work through a mutually-beneficial business partnership.
Cherrico Pottery's office space was small and lacked natural light. Although there was a space designated for photographing the pottery, the environment didn't reflect the look we envisioned. I boxed up 5-10 pieces at a time and lugged them down the street to my college apartment that had natural light and a desk to photograph the pieces on. Using the faux wooden desk and a $5 clip-on lamp as a spotlight, I captured simple still lifes to showcase the pottery's natural, rustic qualities.

Summer 2016 I completed a graphic design internship at Lifetouch Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. For their 80th annual Summer Sales Meeting, I designed the calendar and Snapchat geo-filters shown above. The Minneapolis landscapes were part of a new regional background photo program that I developed. Students would be able to get their school photos with an urban Minneapolis background.
MINUTEMAN PRESS CENTRAL
Summer 2015 I completed a sales and marketing internship at Minuteman Press Central in Northeast Minneapolis. I amped up their social media presence and overall image by photographing their products and creating marketing content with the images. I also designed print materials for Customer Appreciation Month and learned the basics of print collateral production.
